Quality assurance workers are important to many companies as they make sure that the product that is being put out meets all internal and governmental standards. Many companies in North America recently announced that they will be hiring more people to fill these important roles.
CS Wind, a Korean-based wind power firm, is opening up a plant in Windsor, Ontario, and has been looking to hire workers, including those in quality assurance, over the past few months, according to the Windsor Star.
Sang Ho Song, the chief financial officer (CFO) of CS Wind Canada Inc., told the news source that up 30 of the new hires would be taken to the company's facilities in Vietnam for training.
"They are the pioneers," the CFO told the news source. "With our Vietnamese workers, they will be getting direct manufacturing experience and be able to transfer that knowledge back here."
Apple is also looking for at least one worker with quality assurance experience as a posting on their website for a "Thunderbolt Software Quality Engineer." This role, which involves testing hardware and software, reportedly requires at least five years of software quality assurance testing.
