In Nebraska, job seekers could find a variety of available employment opportunities in the transportation industry during an upcoming job fair. The Omaha World-Herald reports that the transportation segment is among the fastest-growing industries in the Cornhusker State, and several companies will proactively search for skilled professionals at a career fair on February 19, 2013.
Deb Christensen, a business service representative for the Nebraska Department of Labor, stated that the event will connect transportation industry employers and job seekers in a comfortable environment. Business professionals can showcase their talents while companies can promote the benefits of joining a rapidly expanding industry.
"[In] transportation, distribution and logistics area[s], they're doing lots of hiring - and all kinds," Christensen told the news source.
Nebraska trucking company W.N. Morehouse Truck Line will send employees to promote the firm at the fair, and business president Brad Morehouse said he hopes to attract drivers who possess extensive skill sets. The transportation segment offers career growth opportunities to job seekers, which could help Morehouse's company and other firms increase their staffs. Additionally, if more businesses find skilled transportation industry specialists to add to their teams, these companies could help the national economy grow over the next few years.
