US Farathane, an automotive parts supplier, will be revamping its Michigan plant and creating 205 new jobs, The Times Herald reported.
The jobs will be added at the company’s Port Huron facility. US Farathane will also spend $14.25 million to construct a new building and hire additional employees in the future.
US Farathane has 11 locations in the U.S., two in Mexico and three in China. The Port Huron plant was selected because it is the company’s most productive, according to the director of the Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County, Dan Casey. The expansion will be supported by a $2.3 million Michigan Business Development Program grant approved by the Michigan Strategic Fund.
“The company has been awarded several new contracts to manufacture interior and under-hood components and plans to expand two of its Michigan subsidiaries,” said US Farathane Chief Financial Officer Jim Gregory.
The company was also awarded $600,000 to create 68 jobs in Auburn Hills at its subsidiary USF Delta Tooling LLC, Crain’s Detroit Business Reported. In addition, US Farathane plans to buy a tooling company based in Michigan.
