Incentive Package to Revitalize Downtown Topeka, Add Jobs

A $225,000 incentive package for Premier Advisory Group will stimulate the local economy and add jobs in downtown Topeka, Kansas, local news station WIBW reported. 

The company, which operates Bajillion Agency, MotoVike Films and ActionCOACH Business Coaching, plans to spend $1.6 million to establish new office space for its businesses. 

The project could add up to $16 million a year to the local economy, according to GO Topeka. In addition, Premier Advisory Group anticipates hiring 45 employees over the next five years, with these jobs having an average salary of $52,000.

Topeka is home, and we think it’s a great place to recruit talent,” said Andrea Engstrom, the company’s president, in an interview with WIBW. “We’re only as good as our people are, and our team is made up of talented individuals who love showing up to work every day. We are excited for what the future holds.”

The Kansas unemployment rate increased to 3.9 percent in August, up from 3.7 percent in July, according to the Department of Labor. In August 2016 the unemployment rate was 4.3 percent.
