The May Employment Situation Report was released from the Bureau of Labor Statistics on June 4, and brought with it continued optimism of a recovering economy. The U.S. saw 559,000 new jobs be introduced in the month of May, building on a trend from recent months.
HRDrive quoted analysis done by MRI in their latest ESR recap: “While that number comes in below economist expectations, it missed the mark by a smaller margin compared to the numbers from April,” they wrote, citing MRINetwork. The unemployment rate dropped to 5.8% in May.
