Over the last few years, we’ve seen that remote work has many benefits for both employers and employees, but the downsides are becoming more evident, especially for young professionals.
Older workers went remote with developed careers and established networks and relationships. These things can’t be built over the internet, so in many ways the younger generation is starting on the backfoot.
Many companies opted for the fully remote option without considering how it might harm the workforce and long-term health of the business. In-office still has immense value and by doing away with it, companies risk throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
The solution? Choosing the business model that provides flexibility without sacrificing culture, cohesion, camaraderie and career development.
How do leaders create a culture that sustains the business and makes the workforce happier? How do we mitigate the downsides of remote work?
