With over 25 years of leadership experience in the World of Work, Bert E. Miller currently serves as CEO of Protis Global and ace Talent Curators, and President and CEO of MRINetwork.
Bert’s expertise in search and recruitment dates back to 1995, when he co-founded Protis Global, an MRINetwork member and award-winning search and recruitment firm specializing in the F&B, CPG, cannabis, and hospitality industries. Protis Global has built some of the most iconic brands in the CPG space, and has consistently ranked in the top 10 of MRINetwork offices over the last 15 years, generating over $75M in permanent placement fees.
In 2019, Bert acquired MRI to lead the organization and its global offices through digital transition and into a new era of talent access. His vision is to effectively scale MRI’s unique network model while supporting existing members with proven tools, training, digital media products, and technology.
Bert is an active speaker, mentor, advisor, and investor. He hosts the MRINetwork Podcast and his new video podcast series, Beyond the Bottom Line, debuts this fall.
As CVO, Joe is leading the digital transformation of MRI, bringing inbound video and storytelling techniques to focus while providing a new digital foundation to the analog-based business model perfected over the past five decades by MRI.
Joining MRI’s Corporate team in 2020, Joe’s primary role is to clearly articulate the future vision of the Network and drive the advancement of the organization to that North Star.Since entering the recruiting industry in 1989, Joe has been at the cutting edge of innovation in talent access. He founded and is chairman & CEO of The Mullings Group, the world’s leading search firm in the medical device industry. Joe also leads Dragonfly Stories, the production firm behind the docu-series, TrueFuture. He holds an engineering degree from The University of Dayton.
Joining MRI in 2019, Todd brings a unique combination of financial, talent access, and MRI-specific knowledge to his role as Chief Financial Officer. He previously served as Vice President and CFO of CDI Corporation’s Talent & Technology Solutions division, which provided clients with staffing-related and technology outsourcing services. His 15-year career at CDI progressed from his initial role of Senior Financial Analyst through CFO, providing Todd with a deep understanding of the financial management of the MRI interim solutions and direct hire business.
As CFO, Todd is responsible for maintaining a first-class finance and accounting organization to support all MRI’s businesses. He is charged with implementing and sustaining a metrics-based approach to real-time business monitoring, assessment, forecasting and strategy planning as MRI rapidly expands its membership-based operating model.
Todd is a graduate of Texas A&M University and earned a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt issued by Purdue University.
With over 30 years of experience in the talent access world, Nancy joined the organization in 2008 as VP, Learning & Talent Development to drive organizational training strategy, including the design, development and delivery of all training tools and management programs. Her role expanded to VP of Global Operations and Franchise Recruitment in 2013 with a strong focus on franchise relations and managing partners engagement programs to enhance and energize the company’s culture. Her commitment to the franchise community and her success in delivering service excellence led to her interim appointment as General Manager of the company in 2017 through 2019, prior to the sale of the organization to Bert Miller. Nancy continues to direct her efforts to providing enlightened leadership in today’s challenging environment and to developing support programs for tenured franchisees and their teams. She was recognized as Staffing Industry Analyst’s Global Power Women in Staffing in 2019. Prior to joining MRI, Nancy honed her skills over 19 years with Spherion Corporation, where she progressed rapidly from running a search practice and strategic sales to the ranks of upper management as VP of Strategic Accounts. Nancy holds a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Michigan State University.
With her industry knowledge and high-energy profile, Emily has a highly successful track record of providing strategic solutions in the talent access space. As a member of the MRI Executive Leadership team, she is responsible for building and executing MRINetwork’s commercial growth strategy, overseeing all pillars of the commercial division including sales, marketing, and partner success.
With over 15 years of industry experience in executive search, firm ownership and corporate environments, Emily recognizes the importance of innovation within the dynamic and changing recruitment landscape. She is a visionary and collaborative leader who has successfully led diverse teams across disciplines, geographies and business units.
With her reputation for integrity, professionalism, and driving results, Emily is charged with synchronizing the MRINetwork brand, offerings, and services to provide best-in-class products and experiences to new and established Network members.
Emily holds a B.A. degree from Western University in London, Ontario.
Lorinda serves as General Counsel for MRI, where she heads legal affairs of the company. She also manages the company’s relationship with outside counsel and works on special projects to maximize the utilization of assets and support strategic direction.
With a strong background in franchise law, Lorinda’s wide range of experience ensures consistency in the legal and business positions taken by the organizations she serves. Prior to joining MRI, she founded a practice focused on business and legal consulting. She previously held positions as COO and General Counsel for several franchise organizations, which included Monster Franchise LLC and Franchise Source Brands International, among others.
Lorinda holds a JD in Law from the Quinnipiac University School of Law, and proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Specialist.
Jessica joined MRI in 2020 to lead marketing for MRI, its global offices, and the MRIThrive community. Jessica is an award-winning marketer with over 15 years of success across a multitude of industries, including B2B SaaS, healthcare, franchise, cannabis, and professional services. Her strength lies in her ability to marry agile marketing strategies with human-centric branding to launch impactful brands and businesses. Her expertise spans strategic brand building, digital strategy, content marketing, communications, and public relations, and she has led major projects for globally-lauded firms.
Jessica has held board positions for a number of non-profit organizations, including the Children’s Wish Foundation and Veterinarians International. In 2015 she was named one of the “Top 40 Under 40” recipients by Business in Vancouver magazine.
Annette joined MRINetwork in 2002 as a board of directors program manager, where she applied her consulting and coaching experience to help MRINetwork offices partner with their peers to improve their organizational success. Through a variety of roles with MRI, she has played a critical role in developing and overseeing many of the leadership and culture programs most valued by our international Network, including our Owner-to-Owner peer groups and NextGen succession planning.
In 2021 she was promoted to Vice President, Organizational Effectiveness & Learning and joined the MRINetwork senior leadership team. Annette’s focus is on the continued identification and development of programs and initiatives to support MRINetwork’s member firms through business strategy, leadership and team development, and organizational health. Her natural ability to connect with people and inspire change through influence has significantly benefitted the MRI Corporate team and Network firms.
Before joining MRINetwork, Annette worked both internally and externally with Accenture, where she guided large organizations through business strategy and change management initiatives. Annette is a graduate of Ball State University, where she studied Psychology before pursuing advanced coursework in organization development from Loyola University of Chicago. She is a certified coach through the International Coaching Federation.
With over 30 years of experience in IT and the last 12 in technology leadership, Paul brings a rich background of technology governance with an emphasis on application development, business intelligence and cybersecurity to the MRINetwork Leadership team.He has an advanced understanding of emerging technologies, a track record of guiding in-house technology teams to excel, and experience in working with distributed management teams of multi-unit professional services firms.
Paul brings a critical communication skill set to the Leadership team, the ability to translate complex technology concepts and strategies into plain language recommendations and processes. While Paul thrives in integrating emerging technology solutions in fast-growing organizations, he remains firmly grounded in critical fundamentals like cybersecurity, data center operations, and management of multi-vendor legacy platforms.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Paul served in the U.S. Army for 10 years before moving to South Florida early in his business career. He holds a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Florida International University.
