Jobs in the technology sector are among the fastest-growing positions in the American workforce. Although the technology industry encompasses a wide variety of different roles, Mashable recently listed the jobs that are likely to see huge growth in demand this year.
As in many previous years, the need for software engineers is expected to increase substantially in 2014. Web developers are also likely to see increased demand for their services, and, with average salaries ranging between $70,000 and $130,000 per year, this is probably going to remain a popular career choice for aspiring technology professionals.
Traditional roles, such as network administrators and IT managers also show signs of promise in the coming 12 months. However, according to CIO magazine, increasing pressure on companies to automate work formerly performed by human beings could jeopardize growth in some sectors of the technology industry.
“The necessity to adopt digital business models transcends all industry verticals, and its diverse impacts are creating business opportunities that were not possible in the past,” Kimberly Harris-Ferrante, vice president of Gartner, told the news source. “Enterprises must respond immediately in order to build the right business and IT road map for future market demands.”
