Social media growth means more jobs

Technology firms have long been the source of employment for those with the right computer skills. In more recent years, social media platforms have become one of the fastest-growing sectors, with many qualified applicants finding solid career opportunities.

One of the most popular social media management platforms these days is Hootsuite, which is in the process of bringing on a number of new workers. TechCrunch reports that the Canadian company recently announced that it was opening a new office in London and hiring 24 new staffers as a result.

“London’s agency culture is what attracted us to this market,” the company’s CEO, Ryan Holmes, told the news source. “It has been a big advantage to moving here as it opens up access to a wide variety of people who have experience working in these closely networked business structures.”

The firm is likely to hire more marketing staff in its new hiring push, a field expected to have many opportunities in the future. In an interview with Forbes, MarketingHire.com CEO Peter DeLegge said that thanks to the popularity of mobile devices, more firms would be adding staff.
