Technology Jobs on the Rise in U.K.

The number of technology jobs in the U.K. reached a new high in 2016, SmallBusiness.co.uk reported.

An analysis conducted by CompTIA found that there were more than 1.3 million technology job postings in the U.K. last year. Some 13 per cent of all job postings in the fourth quarter of 2016 were in IT. In addition, the analysis found that the number of technology workers in the U.K. has increased by more than 100,000 on a year-over-year basis since 2012, the source noted.

“Businesses in the UK continue to become ever more reliant on technology and these results highlight that firms are looking for staff to help them meet IT demands in the 21st century,” said Graham Hunter, VP certifications, Europe and Middle East at CompTIA, according to SmallBusiness.co.uk.

The CompTIA analysis also found that nine of the top 10 U.K. organisations with the highest number of technology job postings were private-sector companies.

A recent survey conducted by job search site Dice revealed that three-quarters of technology professionals in the U.K. feel confident about their career prospects in 2017, Information Age reported.
